Description
The Buckhorn Northern Railroad is an authentic replica of the actual steam train that hauled clay from the Devil’s Backbone to Wild’s Brick Yard west of Loveland. The train includes 1,588 feet of track; a small depot; a tunnel; a water tower ; a gasoline powered engine; two open passenger cars; a cattle car; and a caboose. It supports 32 trips per day, 6 days per week, for 13 weeks each year, resulting in approximately 750 miles per year! The City of Loveland maintains the track, train, and buildings.
Operational from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day on the following schedule:
Mondays - CLOSED (Open these holidays: Memorial Day & Labor Day Mondays)
Wednesdays - 2:00-8:00pm
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - 12:00-8:00pm
The Lions Club completes daily operation and minor maintenance.
